With simplified, user-friendly controls, a compact body and kit lens combination, and an affordable price tag, itsaimed at smartphone upgraderschoosing their first interchangeable-lens camera. In practical terms this means you can comfortably fit the E-PL9 with its powered kit lens in a coat, or even jacket pocket, but the X-A5 is more of a handful. Burst capture rates are unchanged, at a moderately swift 6.0 fps max. But despite including a lot of good features, like on-sensor phase detection and 4K video capture, it just doesn't all come together. Like its predecessor, the Fuji A5 includes a Wi-Fi radio for wireless image transfer, but this is now supplemented with a Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy radio for quick-and-easy pairing as needed. The Fuji X-A5 still draws power from an NP-W126S battery pack, but battery life has been improved by around 10% to some 450 frames. The X-A5 also has the electronic shutter found in other Fujifilm models, with a maximum speed of 1/32,000 sec. With a 35mm equivalent range of 23-69mm this lens is really well suited for selfie shooting and vlogging. 
But it's on the inside where the most important changes can be found. On the top panel the mode dial has the usual PASM positions, as well as SR+ auto mode, scene modes, Advanced filters, some dedicated scene mode positions and Motion panorama. Weve seen this before on Fujifilms entry-level models, and wed be surprised if anyone but a photography expert could spot the difference in image quality. What elevates it above the ordinary, however, is its excellent image quality and the fact that you can capture sharp, well-exposed shots without really trying. The Menu/OK button is at the center. The 15-45mm needs to power on and extend to get ready to capture an image, which accounts for the difference.
