With the wall removals and the addition of multiple slider doors, the main level now has an open layout. After talking about the frustrations of dark spaces and limitations when entertaining groups of friends, the homeowner and the JRP design team emerged with a new vision. In the master suite, we removed a large whirlpool tub and reconfigured the bathroom/closet space. The low pitched roofs, open floor plan, and large windows openings connect the house to nature to make the most of its rural setting. The same white and brown color palette has been used for the island. The marble mosaic tiles in the shower pan are especially bold paired with black matte plumbing fixtures and gives the shower a striking visual. The vintage inspired black and white tile is a nod to the past while the black stainless range and matte black faucet are unmistakably modern. Second Floor Remodel This exciting whole house project began when a couple contacted us while house shopping. PROJECT DETAILS: This spacious kitchen with beautiful views features a prefinished cherry flooring with a very dark stain. By removing the dining room walls, we opened up the space for a grand entry into the kitchen and dining room. The existing kitchen had very dated cabinets and didn't function well for the clients. This dreamy blue kitchen from Orlando Soria creates contrast with White Cliff Matte countertops, a pure white quartz countertop design. The design rejects the traditional New England house with its enclosing wall and inward posture. Everything in the home went from dark to luminous as sunlight could now bounce off white walls to illuminate both spaces.
