That should take care of at least one of the potential stress factors. A size 39 Chanel shoe is in reality 38 which would equate to a US size 8 . Despite this, I find them incredibly versatile. The Espadrilles do need a bit of a break-in period to get the material a little stretched out. So I thus conclude my full review! The slingbacks were ever elusive; never on display in chanel boutique displays in the classic colour scheme; my questions of stock availability were constantly being shot down with 'Sorry Madam, these are completely sold out' or 'I apologise madam, we do not have beige, but we have grey tweed?'. The lines are a natural process and begin to develop with use when the leather bends during walking. I was literally blown away. I feel like it just makes my foot look slimmer. They were great but not the most comfortable if youre walking around all the time. Just bought a pair from a previous season and they've probably been tried on more than once. You could always stuff the toe with tissue to make them just right though. What really matters is how comfortable Chanel slingbacks are, and the block heel plays a big part in that. 
If you choose a darker shade of tweed, like black or navy blue, keeping the shoes clean should not be so much of a problem because they will be less susceptible to staining. (Timeless Styles, Quality, Versatility). Like all Chanel shoes, they are very expensive. 
To be honest, when I bought mine, I did not anticipate the extent to which I would have to baby them. They honestly sell out so fast. Im unsure of the sizing of the two tone slingbacks- the 36 is tight fitting and 36.5 is good too but a little more comfy? But I also dont want the straps to be to be too loose later on. So I was waiting to find these so that I could try them on for size. 
I contemplated nabbing a dupe, just in case these remained a passing phase, but somehow, they just didn't cut it for me. The truth is that with a proper level of care and attention, which most definitely includes having them resoled, the shoes have a potential to become a staple of your wardrobe, particularly if, like me, you are drawn to classic designer styles. Anyway, I agree with gracekelly, the shoemaker can always shorten the strap!

Chanel slingbacks have a leather sole, which isnt the best if you wear them every day. Its very weird because their sizing is all over the place. However I am not sure if it's because it was the end of the day or whether the size was in fact too small for me, I found the straps digging into my heels and my left toes felt tight. Again, the rough texture of the grips prevents the sling from sliding off. Prior to venturing into the boutique, I read some reviews saying that Chanel slingbacks ran true to size. The subtle CC on the edge of the heel makes them delightfully understated. All 6 pairs of my Chanel ballet flats have been a 39 and my slingbacks are also a 39. 700 for unusable shoes? These are not the kind of shoes that I would wear every single day because Im pretty sure I would just wear them to the ground. In fairness, it turned out to be the right decision. They are the type of shoes you end up reaching out for more and more, as you own them, because they are so versatile. There are some variations of Chanel slingbacks where the toe cap is made of leather but I do not own them so I cannot comment whether there is any difference in comfort. I agree with gracekelly, I take my normal Chanel size. It also protects the ball of the foot from excessive pressure. But in the last four years that hasnt happened, so that could be an unfounded fear. In terms of fit, the back part is still a very thick kind of scratchy material, but just regular socks will cover it up.
