I hated my stock seat first long ride I took I got the mustang touring seat it was hard at first but after the first few rides my butt broke in and the seat started breaking in now I love the seat. Second the Maverick DLL steel pan with a carpeted bottom, wont scratch your paint. The seat took a good 1000k to break-in, now the gel is formed great to small bony butt. I have a Saddleman profiler seat and while it is much better than stock, I probably wouldn't buy it again. Good looking seat with nice stitching, good for short distances. They both make seats that are mostly for touring (big and bulky) and then they both make seats that have a lower profile so it gives you more of a custom look. Road King, Road King Custom, Road King Classic, Road Glide, Street Glide, Electra Glide, Electra Glide Classic, and Electra Glide Ultra Classic bikes. The Saddlemen seats, in my experience, tend to run on the firm side whereas the Mustangs are more plush. SoI need some input from you guys that have either of these brands of seats, I am looking for a nice seat that I can ride 200 miles in and not get a sore bum. I can sit on the saddle for 500+ miles w/o the sheepskin just fine, but with it I'm that much more comfortable. I added the nose strap and had her do up 2 straps with loops on the ends instead of the under seat strap. Probably would go wrong with either. I just upgraded my Mustang vintage solo and wide pillion to the Mustang Summit (a version of the super touring made specifically for the rushmore frame). I just hook them to the passenger peg mounts so its a lot easier to take on and off, plus doesn't leave the strap with clips hanging out from under the seat once removed. I read so many posts before I purchased my seat. Or wait for a mustang. I don't even think about the seat anymore when I ride. I felt like the Saddlemen seat was comfortable enough that there wasn't a need for the gel pad version so I just went with a basic one from Alaskan Leather. Saddlemen are available now. No problem doing long rides since I put it on and it just keeps getting more and more comfortable. With the solo I was always looking at other seats and knew I had good but not best. See the product details for a description of the product's condition. Just thought someone on here may have experience with both and could give me their opinion before I buy something I won't end up using. . I have a 2010 FXDC that came with a Mustang 2 piece seat. Get there sore or get there happy and ready to keep going. Good luck with your search. 
I love it..I have never tried a Saddleman but I hear they are very good as well. A friend of mine has a Leperra on his SG and he loves it. I have a Roadsofa for my bike and I have multiple 400+ days on it. 2018 Road Glide Special-V&H naked air intake, S&S Grand Nationals & 475 cam/lifters, SE 55mm intake manifold, PowerVison tuner w/Fuel Moto map, SuperShox, 13" Freedom Shield. I've always bought mustang seats and I've always been happy with them. Not sure exactly how far back and down I need yet. You deserve to reward yourself with a throne built for a king. I have a bunch of 700+ mile days in the solo and the difference between that and the summit are huge, its a little wider, a little further back and has a backrest. Would have swapped over my old one, but sold it with the bike a few months before I went shopping for a new one. I dont own a model with a backrest, the Maverick has a comfortable step back.
