The opening smells very similar to Dior's Eau Sauvage and has a beautiful mix of lemon, lime, and leather with a hint of oakmoss that just works really well. When I wear this it am reminded of the presence of men who exude inspirational qualities. I am a sucker for lemony fougeres and this one is near perfect. I can't accept Tuscany Per Uomo as a romantic addition in my collection (as denoted in its advertisement) but yes it can be a formal / casual everyday wear and possess immense masculinity. . It has a lovely herbal top note with a warm patchouli drydown which reminds me of sun drenched countryside. Mature smelling, like a grey Headed Gentleman who plays Golf. So with much sadness I had to relinquish the bottle to it's proper owner. One last tip: This is not civilized. Id wish. Aramis Tuscany per Uomo is an excellent aromatic fougere. I would spray myself all the time, so it held good memories for me. I bewailed using the last of these samples after a year or so. A bit different than Tuscany! It demands fun. There is some of the original Aramis here, but it is subtle and updated. This is the type of scent that either I'd wear to a picnic near a winery or the type of scent that I'd wear and think about picnicking at a winery all day long. In all my years I can honestly say I have not sampled a reformulation of anything I used to wear to be of my liking. One hour later still lavender reminding me of lavender soap and talcum powder by Yardley. I like the comment before mine saying this fragrance just "oozes class." The sweet- woody - spiciness makes this a classic. My signature scent in early 90s. So, if you don't have access to an older Azzaro bottle just get Tuscany, the vision is more or less the same. As for being similar to Rive Gauche in the dry-down, I get that, but Rive Gauche is in a class of its own and does not come with a bitter caraway cloud. It's not a "synthetic blob" but perhaps it can be regarded as a kind of natural blob at this point. Mes Amis de la Senteur - a quick perusal of my list will show that I am not afraid of strong colognes. Wore this when it first came out as a teenager and really forgot what it smelled like. As I age I will use this more often along with my Havana that I so love. Where I draw the line on scents like Drakkar Noir and Azzaro Pour Homme, I find comfort in classics like Armani Eau Pour Homme and Aramis Tuscany. So much nostalgia with this scent. Its far from being considered a powerhouse. Overall nice. Positives: the price and it's longevity, if you like it. There's some element in Tuscany that reminds me of my youth. This is a very satisfying good old school barbershop/fougere fragrance, albeit a bit linear and one-dimensional in character. Despite the changes to the strength and longevity, it is still worth a bottle. It's a bit harsh at first, with a strong natural lemon note, but it soon becomes much smoother and more woody, and apologizes a bit for initially overpowering you. Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo Eau de Toile (. Very classy, a smell I can never forget. maybe reformulated but still smells great! Having read many of the reviews of this fragrance which stated that the vintage version was far superior to the newer reformulated one, I managed to obtain 30ml of vintage formulation from ebay (vintage Tuscany per Uomo is distinguished by a box which is all thin black and red stripes, and a bottle with a label only on the underside). So many others do this so much better. oh the memories! I tried today, and remembered the father's scent during that time. Longevity is excellent as with all of Aramis fragrances and projection is good too and you will get compliments. Strikes me as a softer, more discreet version of Azzaro pour homme. The dry down on this smells almost like a natural body odor mixed with some spices. More leather notes present in it, and a lot spicier. For curiosity sake (and because I'm addicted to trying fragrances) I jumped on a nearly unused big bottle for about $60. TPU is truly spicy and fresh, with a real refined lightness, that elevates it above other scents of this genre. This is for the hairy-chested man who knows what he wants and works hard for it; that's the sort of vibe I get from it. Althought it took a while to like the scent, I would not buy it. This is an all time great that still hasnt lost its charm. Instead this scent plays more with textures, there is a certain powdery feel to this scent, or a slight airiness. Do a side by side comparison & you will see what I mean, they both have a moss like scent. I have several Aramis Men's frag which I have acquired over the last 1 1/2 yrs. A bit similar to Azzaro PH, but absolutely not interchangable. Save it for cooler days and nights. This smells like how I imagine Reservoir Dogs character Mr. Blonde (Michael Madson) smelled after a fresh shower and shave. This one is my hubby's favorite scent. Tuscany falls in line with the old school, barbershop fragrances I tend to love. This is an herbal slap in the face by a sharply-dressed 40-year-old Italian playboy millionaire. I'll be honest with you, at first I thought that Araris's frags were for much older men and they weren't appealing to say a 20 year old. But I loved it anyway so my then girlfriend (now wife) gifted me the lighter 'Mineral Spray' version which was a good deal more manageable. Tuscany used to be piercing and brutal in strenght, but after an hour, those specific cypress and lime freshness is fading away which is pity. There is a very slight soapy vibe I get in the drydown but it's fleeting. Could be. I bought a new bottle with batch code A21 . This is frequently compared to Azzaro Pour Homme. I'm not a fan of Azzaro pour homme and I can even smell the similarities here but weirdly Tuscany per uomo has to be my favourite from Amaris. I loved it for its softness, velvety smoothness, exceptional blending, and relative classiness as compared to the other much more "in your face" aromatic fougeres of the day. I'll surprise my dad with it in the summer when I visit.Don Draper would approve of the vintage juice. Spicey heaven!!! This fragrance is perfect for all year it is warm, woody and very sexy. It's very close to Calvin by CK. Fanstastic for warm spring, summer and fall days. Tuscany has a smaller lavender with more assertive bit players, and no single note takes the lead. While sampling a few perfumes on my wrists and shirt, salesman offered Tuscany for sampling. This fragrance is splendid. A dead ringer of Rive Gauche in the dry down, which is excellent news given the limited availability of RG. Tuscany is its own thing, just enough, and I like it a good deal. The entire Aramis line-up is a welcome change from the fresh/blue scents that are being produced by most houses today. This is unambiguously man-juice, but not in such a brash way that you wish it would just shut up after a while, like some of the other 80s kick-you-in-the-balls scents. Smells intimate. This had nothing to do with these elements being carcinogenic - they aren't. Lingophiles review convinced me to get a an account on this site. I have a long history with this particular fragrance. Perfume lovers: 792,972 It worked well for dates, semi-formal occasions, and even with jeans and a leather jacket. when did this go up to the 50-60 dollar range?not that it aint worth it and actually more in my opinion. Masculine, solid and ageless. It doesn't seem the same anymore, but I remember it so fondly! Unfortunately this performance has been lost over the years, I recently bought a bottle from batch A41 and longevity is 4 hours at best. As a lover and owner of many of the best classes of Fougeres, this one stands on its own. This gives it a warmth that Azzaro lacks. I am glad I found the Vintage still in circulation. This used to be called Etruscan, right? I was certainly trying to be more mature as at that age had some appearances to keep. It had a way of lasting 8 hours or more with one spray -- I remember waking up in the girl's dorm, having had slept over, and still the women would come up to me and put their noses in the small of my neck, breathing in deeply. Very rustic, very versatile, very nice. Recently purchased an early bottle. There's a dry, snappy leather that occasionally looks the other direction to reveal a sweeter, Bel-Ami style of leather. I think the drydown is quite different, with a strong woody/patchouli/leathery that's dry and severe, sort of like a more herbal Rive Gauche Pour Homme, but Tuscany is just too brutal at this point for me (not much sweetness either). I love these types of scents and the general aura they create. These two notes maintain the spiciness of the opening yet give it a slight floral freshness. She tells me I'm 30 but I smell like an old man. I'll have to see how it unfolds in the summer but I suspect it might go off the rails on a hot, humid day. Men who are mentors without intending to be. Last year I found Tuscany somewhere and bought , batch code was A97. It just smells nice! Longevity is above average and the opening projects quite well for the first few hours. This is not a throwaway type frag that you are just wearing to simply smell nice. Its citrus and lavender accord is very crisp and clean, and I love how basil, caraway, and tarragon interact in the heart, forming a grassy herbal freshness around coumarin and anise. Aramis Tuscany Per Uomo. In the final is so leathery and herbal, but maintaining the fougere style. Tuscany is one of the best examples of fougere. The caraway is to strong for my taste. I like Tuscany a lot more though. Making coq au vin today, completing the preps and decide to hit the shower before the cooking work begins. On me, Tuscany starts off with the citrus notes, mostly orange. I just bought 30mls of the vintage juice from Ebay and wow, I can't believe I wore this as a teenager. This is STRONG and VERY MASCULINE. It reminds me of like a wealth-off uncle. Got a compliment last week wearing Tuscany. This one's definitely reminiscent of Azzaro's Pour Homme. "TUSCANY!!! Should be worn in the winter months. It is a fragrance that best works when you are all dressed up in your best suit. Its bottom notes would just ripen and get better the longer it stayed on the skin. I am not knocked out by the performance. Why? Yes it does have quite a strong bitter opening but in less than 30 minutes I have found this falls away to a very smooth, warm, spicy leather. this is not the most modern scent nowadays, in 2021 fits better for the gentlemen but it's still a game-changer and in my opinon one of the best edt of the 80's. The scent itself is a oxymoron. Tuscany Per Uomo for me is a very manly fragrance of the kind of fresh woody, of the style of fougeres with anise as fragrances as Azzaro Pour Homme, Rive Gauche Pour Homme and Pasha Cartier. I have the original formulation. To me it represents what a man should smell like. While it has similarities to other aromatic fougeres, this one goes in a very particular direction, and loses that balance that many enjoy with this genre, apparently. many years ago aramis made this fragrance as a tribute to the italian style and culture. Tuscany per uomo is the one of my favorite. It's sensible, friendly, unique, and it still exerts a masculinity that commands respect. Smells amazing! I wore this the year it came out in 1986 (a Christmas present from my sister) for about a decade until I was too poor to afford it in my post college years. But you only smell like Pledge or a lemon-flavored Starburst for a minute or two, then that note settles down and the fragrance becomes all about dry woods, with a dark Earl Grey freshness thanks to the lingering citrus, and a sweetness that may be due to the tonka bean and perhaps also to the spices, which I otherwise dont notice much. pure beauty in a masculine way. It lasts in subtle measure all day. Fantastic fragrance. Typical late mid 40s man with a body that was once super fit, but is now getting thicker with all the drinking and dining out.
