The Urban Glide 2 is an updated version of the Urban Glide, a stroller introduced in 2014. We operate independently from our advertising sales team. Bumbleride has built the Speed to be durable and functional while minimizing environmental impacts from manufacturing for a stroller that is free of harmful chemicals and uses recycled materials from fabrics to frame. However, you really can feel the difference in how this stroller handles when compared side-by-side with higher-end models. (The exception to this rule is the Thule Chariot Cross 1a pricey and popular model that can convert for biking, cross-country skiing, jogging and walkingwhich we have included in this guide.) The BOBs handlebar adjusts up or down, though it lacks the ergonomic placement of the Thules and has fewer height options; it worked well for our taller testers but was less appealing to runners shorter than 5-foot-5. First, it's definitely not cheap, so this stroller is not a budget buy. Of course, sidewalks are ideal conditions and things got a bit rockier when I went off-road with it, but I was able to push my toddler over miles of dirt and gravel terrain without a peep of complaint. The Urban Glide 2 has a good-but-not-amazing-size storage compartment. The Alterrain is more comfortable than the Urban Glide 2 in some ways, though: The canopy is bigger, providing more protection from the elements and additional coverage for naps (and its rated UPF 50+). The Alterrain turns easily and bounced over potholes about as well as the Thule did, but it especially excelled on trails, thanks to a well-built suspension system of shocks and springs (the most robust of any stroller we tested) anddeeply treaded tires, which drag on pavement but keep you moving quickly over rocks and roots. But I could feel the weight difference when pushing it uphill. The Speed will automatically lock and can stand upright once folded for easy storage. If you were a runner before you decided to jog with a kid in tow, make note that there are a few small adjustments to running with a stroller. This means that the wheel stays steady and in-place for jogging, but has just enough wiggle room to help you take tight corners. Jogging strollers are a great solution for any runner who wants to bring a child along for the ride. With a deeper seat and leg rest, the Speed provides a bit more space for a growing toddler. Need to carry two child passengers instead of one? (Its still well balanced when youre carrying only one child.). Tires with more tread can better grip rocky or uneven surfaces better, but they will be slower on pavement than slicker tires. The only place where you might not want to use the Thule is on trails; it handles short, bumpy stints just fine, but it isnt meant for long-distance trail running. Its similar to Thules single stroller but offers room for two kids; if needed, one child can sit in a car seat (with an adaptor) while the other relaxes in the adjacent seat. The Speed stroller model also came complete with a tire hand-pump and a bumper bar that goes across the kiddo's lap. But that doesnt mean a newborn can join you on a 5K. The Burley D'Lite is certainly not the only combination bike tow and jogging stroller you can buy, but it's the best one I've tried, and it has all the bells and whistles.
