I know it seems weird that I'm going to bash this novel about how it deals with cheating when the synopsis more or less says that it's about cheating.

The book is littered with selfish, inconsiderate, drunken assholes, with our heroine front and center in assholishness. It's kind to young women, brilliant in its approach to the internet, correct about One Direction, and essential for anyone forming an opinion about how fans impact the internet. Then Brady gets an intervention from his brothers, and they take him to a seedy bar, where he sees just how wild Lennox Greene is. There is no unnecessary drama or angst thrown in for no reason. But where I'm used to seeing her do that with a western setting, this is a bit different. I actually really enjoyed parts of this because it was really funny and kept my attention, and it just felt (like I said with china rich girlfriend) like a. I can definitely see how this will be INCREDIBLY divisive. I really loved her attitude and her work ethic. The question is: Should they? }}(document,'script','twitter-wjs'); And I loved him. I cant wait to read Walker, Annika. I especially loved reading about Tiffany's own relationship with One Direction it genuinely made me want to build a new parasocial relationship with a celebrity. Sweet, sexy and easy to read. I am happy that Brady and Lennox got their happily ever after. I read reviews of it and people seemed to love it and it seemed to make them laugh. Also, this was my first Lorelai James book and it certainly will not be my last.

What I think Tiffany does really well is to conjure up the magic of being a fan of something: how a song can make you feel nineteen forever, how observing and understanding the weird machinations of an online fandom can you create a sense of belonging even if youre just watching from the sidelines. It is the best-written, the funniest, and the most thoughtful women's fiction book I have read in ever. This book is 90% a history of One Direction online fandom with occasional offhand mentions of other fandoms, mostly K-Pop. I didn't make it past chapter 2. OK so "How Fangirls Created the Internet as We Know It" is a book I'd love to read but it's really not what this book is? I have read many, many books in my time, but this one takes the cake. I loved it. I agree with another reviewer, that I thought the main characters bordered on sociopathic. Recently, I was preparing for a car trip and saw the audio version of this book sitting on a library shelf and thought, "Why not?" The author weaves anecdotes about 1D, stan accounts, and scholarship about fandom and fangirls into a clever conversation about the internet and why we love. 
I really thought I would like this book. This is a quick read, and one that most people will not have trouble finishing. When im not on my phone?? , I can see how a lot of people immediately react badly, even though that's kind of the point of the book. It does touch on the darker side of obsession and fandom, but the majority of the book is pretty light-hearted. I found this book very disturbing. This book was a disaster from beginning to end. As a self-professed former boy band fangirl, and with a graduate degree in media studies, the marriage of the two is endlessly fascinating. me and my one direction friends are passing this book around like a blunt, Promised to be a deep dive on fangirls and how they shaped the social internet.
